The Tell

Lipstick on the cheek is less
telling than lipstick on the collar,
more innocent,
rosy. On the cheek it says,
“look at me,” but on the collar
it says, “look away;
I have yielded
a hollow of the body. A soft spot,
the neck, has been invaded.”
